Banter, Sweepie Money, Members Questionnaire, Comment Card, AGM, Membership Fees, Links Subscriptions 2014/15, Social Events… and finally!


The Winter League is in full swing. We hope to give a rundown of placings early New Year. Enter the Captain’s Winter Stroke Play Prize on a Saturday morning.

The Committee has decided that there should be a competition run on Saturday’s throughout the Winter on the Medal Course. Mats are in operation from Mon 2 December.

Members Questionnaire

We are constantly striving to further improve our facilities and service levels. To this end, we would be most grateful if you could take a few moments to complete the questionnaire issued with your fees notice. It will allow us to measure our performance and take appropriate action where necessary.

Comment Card

We welcome comments and suggestions on ways to improve our service to members. Read about, and use our new Comment Cards.


The AGM is planned for Wed 26th February 2014.

Membership Fees

The Committee has set fees for 2014. Existing members renewing their fees in full by 31 December 2013 AND who have completed and handed in a survey form will receive a £5 bar token. Payment notices will be issued shortly.

Links Subscriptions 2014/15

The Links Board has agreed the following ticket and fee structure for the year 2013/14. Fees are due to be paid by 31st March 2013 and further payment information will follow early in the New Year.

Social Events

Complimentary mince pies the week before Christmas… courtesy of the Captain & Vice-Captain. Hogmanay Raffle, Family Christmas Party, Christmas Dinner Dance and Hogmanay Hooley. Something for everyone. Lets be having you in the Club over the Festive Period. If only to buy a raffle ticket, pay your fees, collect a complimentary mince pie (WOW!) or to hand in your survey form.

… and finally

I would appreciate any donations of prizes for the various raffles. Hand them in to the Bar and leave a note of your name with the staff.

Banter/Results, Fixtures, Seniors & Sweepstake


Congratulations to our final Texas winners of the season. Alan Rae, Kenny Laing, Dave Ramsay & Dave Moncur picked up first place with a net 53 and Seniors Greensome Winners: Jim McLuskie & Mike Dewar

The Winter League starts on the Ashludie Course on Sun 20 October. Handicaps will be ¾ full handicap. As this is a ‘non-counting’ competition, normal handicaps will be maintained for other competitions. The Senior Winter League (Weds) has already started.

You can also buy raffle tickets at the Bar… £5 in envelope… we will include a fourball so worth a try.

Quiz night

We are hosting a Charity Quiz on Sat 19 Oct (tomorrow). The Quiz is being organised by Jim Miller… members welcome.

New Member Links Taster Ticket. We will match with free membership of The Broughty (until end of year) to anyone taking out the Taster Ticket.

Junior Golf

We are now looking for Broughty volunteers to assist with the Primary 5 coaching in the Monifieth associate primary schools. For those who wish to take things further, the Broughty will sponsor coaching training at the SGU courses. If you are interested, please contact George Laidlaw at The Broughty.
